A portrait of Abraham Zacuto Lusistanus (1575-1642) published as the frontis piece to his Opera Omnia: de Medicorum Principum Historia, one of two key works published posthumously. The Medicorum was a catalogue of all known diseases and his precise clinical descriptions of the diseases was his greatest strength. Lusistanus moved to Amsterdam in 1625 where he made a zealous return to Judiasm and became an important figure in the Jewish scientific community.
