Allegory on the marriage of Joseph, Archduke of Austria to Isabella, daughter of Philip, Duke of Parma (6th October 1760). In the sky, the Gods gather on clouds, next to large oval medallions featuring portraits of the Archduke and his wife. Below on the right is the statue of Minerva, the Roman Godess of wisdom, with allegorical female figures in front. Sinking ships are seen in the water, with the burning city of Tuscany in the distance to the left. Frontispiece to 'Discorso del Senatore Cavaliere Giulio Rucellai', Firenze, 1761.

Engraving. Plate: 320 x 490mm (12½ x 19¼''), with large margins. Repaired tears into plate, creasing.
The frontispiece to Giuseppe Zochhi's (1711-1767) 'Vedute Delle Ville e d'Altri Luoghi Della Toscana' which depicted villas and views in Tuscany. Classical allegorical figures stand around a central statue and three putti support an oval portrait of Zocchi which rests at the base of the statue.

Plate 30: view of the villa Corsini. Villa Corsini, belonged to the Strozzi family untill Palla Strozzi was exiled due to his oppositon to Cosimo the Elder at which point the villa was sold on to the Rinieri family. It was not until 1697 that it passed to the Corsini's, when Lucrezia Rinuccini bought it, Filippo Corsini's wife, showing men playing boule. From "Vedute delle ville e d'altri luoghi della Toscana".
