Fisher Ames (1758 1808) was a Representative in the United States Congress from the 1st Congressional District of Massachusetts. Ames was elected to the First United States Congress, having beat Samuel Adams for the post. He also served in the Second and Third Congresses and as a Federalist to the Fourth Congress. In 1805, Ames was chosen president of Harvard University.

Head & shoulders portrait of Thomas Pringle, a Royal Navy officer who served during the American War of Independence and the French Revolutionary & Napoleonic Wars, once described by Nelson as 'my particular friend, and a man of great honour'. He died in Edinburgh in 1803.
Pringle is amongst those portrayed in the large print commemorating the Glorious 1st of June [1794], for which see ref. 5572
