Fisher Ames (1758 - 1808) was a Representative in the United States Congress from the 1st Congressional District of Massachusetts. Ames was elected to the First United States Congress, having beat Samuel Adams for the post. He also served in the Second and Third Congresses and as a Federalist to the Fourth Congress. In 1805, Ames was chosen president of Harvard University.

A portrait of Irish soldier and politician Isaac Barré (1726 - 1802). Barré earned distinction serving with the British army during the Seven Years' War, and later became a prominent Member of Parliament where he became a vocal supporter of William Pitt. He is known for coining the term 'Sons of Liberty' in reference to American Whigs opposed to the British government's policies.

William Burton Conyngham (1733-96), a Commissioner of the Treasury for Ireland from 1793, who began the construction of Slane Castle. He presented the Trinity College Harp to the college, which was used as a Guinness trade mark in 1876 and as the model for the insignia of the Irish Free State and the Republic of Ireland in 1922. Irish and American interest. Stuart (1755-1828), an American painter known for his portraits of the first six presidents of the USA (including the portrait of Washington on the $1 bill), is called Gilbert Charles today but engravings after him are often signed C.G. For this portrait only Conyngham's face was taken from Stuart's oil of c.1792.

Head & shoulders portrait of Thomas Pringle, a Royal Navy officer who served during the American War of Independence and the French Revolutionary & Napoleonic Wars, once described by Nelson as 'my particular friend, and a man of great honour'. He died in Edinburgh in 1803.
Pringle is amongst those portrayed in the large print commemorating the Glorious 1st of June [1794], for which see ref. 5572

Francis Rawdon Hastings, first marquess of Hastings and second earl of Moira (1754-1826), army officer and politician. Hastings fought with distinction in the American War of Independence and French Revolutionary Wars (he was commended for fearlessness at Bunker Hill in 1775, where two bullets passed through his hat), before becoming a politician, in which capacity he showed an ongoing concern for Ireland. Financial problems resulting from his extravagance led to him taking up the position of governor-general of India from 1813 to 1823.

A head and shoulders portrait of George Washington within an oval, after the portrait by Gilbert Stuart. Originally a frame maker, William Smith ran a print shop in Philadelphia from c.1860 to c.1891, specialising in lithographic portraits and historical scenes. He moved to 702 South Third Street in 1863.
