Thomas Rotherham (1423-1500), appointed Bishop of Rochester in 1468, Lincoln in 1472, and then Archbishop of York in 1480 until his death. He twice served as Lord Chancellor. After the Wars of the Roses his patronage saved Lincoln College Oxford, which had recieved its charter from the deposed Lancastrians.
