A Chelsea Pensioner with an old lady holding his wrist, red post pillar box behind. Emil Orlik (Austrian, 1870-1932) produced this woodcut for 'The Dome', an illustrated magazine and review of literature, music, architecture and the graphic arts. Although it only ran from 1897-1900 the contributors included Elgar, Japanese printmakers Hiroshige & Hokusai, Rosetti, Strang and Yeats.
