OE [monogram of Emil Orlik.] [London: Unicorn Press, 1898.] Woodcut printed in black and red. Image 105 x 85mm (4¼ x 3½"), 'Dome' corcular blindstamp in margin. Staining in margin. A Chelsea Pensioner with an old lady holding his wrist, red post pillar box behind. Emil Orlik (Austrian, 1870-1932) produced this woodcut for 'The Dome', an illustrated magazine and review of literature, music, architecture and the graphic arts. Although it only ran from 1897-1900 the contributors included Elgar, Japanese printmakers Hiroshige & Hokusai, Rosetti, Strang and Yeats. BM 1949,0411.4505/
