Thomas Morton (1764-1838) was an English playwright. He originally went to London to study law at Lincoln's Inn, but abandoned his studies for playwriting.

Fitzroy James Henry Somerset, 1st Baron Raglan (1788 - 1855), Commander of British forces in the Crimean War. He entered the army aged sixteen and lost his right arm at Waterloo. Appointed to command British troops against Russia in the Crimea in 1854. He secured victory at the Alma but his lack of experience as a commander in the field was held to blame for later calamities; died of cholera, 28 June 1855, ' the victim of England's unreadiness for war'. After Andrew Morton (1802 - 1845).
