A young girl, symbolizing the 'morning of life', accompanied by verses by Hannah Cowley (1743-1809). Cowley is now recognized as having played an important role in the fight for women's justice in her work. The publisher, Hannah Macklin, was the widow of Thomas Macklin, continuing his business after his death in 1801.
