The Battle of Navarino (20 October 1827) was a naval battle during the Greek War of Independence in Navarino Bay in the Ionian Sea. A combined force of Ottoman and Egyptian power engaged in battle with a combined British, French and Russian naval force that saw the Ottoman and Egyptian armada destroyed. It was notable for being the last major naval battle in history to be fought entirely with sailing ships. Original held in the "Musée National des Châteaux de Versailles et de Trianon".
