9 watercolours on album paper, largest 155 x 220mm, 6 x 8½". A bad tear in the European-style carriage watercolour., one laid on album page, 7 in good condition.
In pencil: 'Letter Writer', 'A Dervish', 'Sultan Mahmoud's Tomb'; and four costume and two carriage scenes, one of an European-style Phaeton carriage (drawn by two horses that became popular in Istanbul during the reign of Mahmoud II), the other a more rural form of transport for carrying women only. Portrait of Daniel O'Connell (1775 - 1847), with a dedication to J. W. Fulton inscribed underneath, including a coat of arms and facsimile signature. Often referred to as 'The Liberator', or 'The Emancipator', O' Connell was an Irish political leader in the first half of the 19th century. He campaigned for Catholic Emancipation, including the right for Catholics to sit in the Westminster Parliament, denied for over 100 years, and the repeal of the Act of Union which combined Great Britain and Ireland.

Portrait of Daniel O'Connell (1775 - 1847), reversed from the portrait by Irish painter John Gubbins, issued as a mezzotint by Quilley in 1829. Extremely rare French printed image of O'Connell, signed in ink at bottom. It seems to be unrecorded.
