White Kennett (1660-1728), historian and bishop of Peterborough. Portrait by James Fittler, one of the few engravers who became Associate members of the Royal Academy at a time when printmakers were not permitted to become full members. Many prominent engravers preferred to avoid the RA altogether rather than accept this subordinate status.

A view along the Jurassic coast in Dorset; the Grade 1 listed Rufus Castle, also known as Bow and Arrow Castle, the ruined castle overlooking Church Ope Cave on Portland. Named Rufus as it was probably built by that king. Soon after this print was made, William Penn's grandson John built a mansion nearby and enclosed the castle, restricting the free access to the castle which had previously been available to visitors. From the oblong folio 'Views of Waymouth' (1791, 12 plates) after J. Nixon, A. Beaumont; T. Morris, F. Bowles, and J. Love.

The churchyard was the burial site for victims of the wreck of the Earl of Abergavenny (including William Wordsworth's brother, John) and the East Indiaman 'Alexander'. King George III frequented the church during his summer visits to the area from 1790-1805. From the oblong folio 'Views of Waymouth' (1791, 12 plates) after J. Nixon, A. Beaumont; T. Morris, F. Bowles, and J. Love, whose publication may have been inspired by interest arising from George III's visits to the area.
