In 1794 he was raised to the peerage as Baron Curzon, or Penn in the County of Buckingham, and then in 1802 he further honoured when he was made Viscount Curzon. He died in 1820, aged 90, and was succeeded by his grandon, Richard, who was created Earl Howe in 1821.
