Rare complete set of twelve chromolithographic cards, each with a month's calendar, list of racing fixtures and a caricature. Card size 160 x 230mm (6¼ x 9"). Some ink mss.
A racing calendar with caricature portraits of important figures of the racing world, including Lords Ellesmere, Lovat & Londesborough, and the Maharajah Jam Sahebof of Nawanagar (best known as a test cricketer for England, regarded as one of the greatest batsmen of all time). Buchanan worked as a sports cartoonist and caricaturist for Motor Magazine, the News of the World and Tatler.
