From 'Voyage de la Corvette l'Astrolabe', the account of Jules Dumont D'Urville's important expedition to the South Seas between 1826 and 1829. Aborigines of King George Sound, Western Australia, gathered round a barbeque roasting lizard. A study was carried out involving overnight stays of Aborigines on board the Astrolabe as well as reciprocal visits ashore by members of the French contingent.
