Etching. 200 x 150mm.
George Soper, RE (1870-1942), became an expert printmaker and gained most recognition during his lifetime as an etcher, and later as a wood engraver. Over three decades he produced more than five hundred prints. Both the British Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, include examples of his etchings in their collections. This etching of two scottish terrier breed dogs watching over their masters golf clubs, has also been seen with the title 'Black and White', suggesting a West Highland and Scottie, possible a Sealyham.
