Cornelis Cort [1533 - 1578] engraver. From 1552-1553 a pupil of Hieronymus Cock in Antwerp with whom he worked between 1563 and 1565, he afterwards went to Venice with Titian, and in 1566 to Rome where he died. From the 'True Effigies Of the most Eminent Painters, and other Famous Artists That have Flourished in Europe' published in 1694 in Antwerp.
