A view of 'The New Law Courts' or The Royal Courts of Justice, opened in The Strand, London, by Queen Victoria on 4th December 1882. G.E. Street was the architect. The building was designed to concentrate into one place all the superior courts concerned with civil (i.e. non-criminal) cases.
