Portrait of the musical child prodigy William Crotch (1775-1847) published when he was only four years old. After showing an interest in his father's pipe organ well before his second birthday, Crotch had already toured East Anglia and peformed in London (playing before George III) by the time this print was made. Crotch continued to play the organ in later life, adding composition and lecturing on music to his activities.
