The garden at Wilton House, near Salisbury in Wiltshire. It was created by Salomon de Caus, who from 1615 onwards was employed by the Earl of Pembroke, who received one of the most important gardens in the country in return. This plate was first published in the book 'Hortus Pembrochianus' (1615), a volume publicising the garden. Formerly in the collection of Robert Johannes Meyer (1882-1976), Hamburg lawyer and print collector.
