The baptism of the Ethiopian eunuch by St Philip (Acts 8), one of several plates after Salvator Rosa etched by Joseph Goupy (1689-1769). Goupy's were amongst the first British prints after Rosa (1615-73), the Italian artist who became a important exemplar for British theories of the Sublime and Romanticism. Around the time this print was made Rosa's painting was owned by the politician and art collector Humphrey Morice. It is now in the Chrysler Museum of Art, Norfolk, Virginia.
