Dawley in Hayes, Middlesex, northwest of London. In 1725, soon after this print was made, the estate was purchased by statesman Henry St John, Viscount Bolingbroke, whose guests included Swift, Pope, Voltaire and Dryden. Plate from James Beverell's Les Delices de la Grande Bretagne et de L'Irlande. Formerly in the collection of Robert Johannes Meyer (1882-1976), Hamburg lawyer and print collector.
