Susannah accused by the elders. A classical setting Susannah, standing with her arms outstretched in the centre. The two elders pointing at her with crowds surrounding them, with many people expressing grief. Susannah was a biblical figure, a virtuous woman who refused the advances of two elders. In revenge she was brought to trial and condemned to death, but rescued by Daniel, sent from God. Lettered below with titles and a dedication to Philippe II, Duc d'Orléans, Regent of France. After French historical painter Antoine Coypel (1661 - 1722).
