Frederick North (1732-92), Lord North and later 2nd Earl of Guilford. He was Prime Minister from 1770 until he became the first P.M. to be forced from office by a vote of no confidence, brought on by the defeat at Yorktown in 1781 during the American War of Independence. He resign on 20th March 1782.
