The Queen, on route to her execution, accompanied by her weeping ladies and a boy, led by two men, stops to address her steward Melville, an old man who kneels on the right, telling him not to grieve, since her troubles are nearly over. [&] Lady Jane Grey sitting on the left with her ladies at a table with an open book, holding up a crown, turning her head to look happily towards the Duke of Suffolk who enters to the right, bringing news that the council had declared for Queen Mary.
