A view down Capel Street, Dublin, over Essex Bridge, towards a domed building with a pedimented portico, with a bow-windowed shop on the left hung with oval signs lettered, 'The Military State Lottery Office' and 'The Old State Lottery Office'. Many figures, including a lamp-lighter can be seen on the street. A ship is visible behind the bridge parapet to the left.
