Lithograph, sheet 190 x 155mm (7½ x 6"). Trimmed, losing part of text; tear top right; false margins added.
Inventive tribute to Napoleon, listing the major events in his life on a tree trunk (birth at the bottom, death at the top). On the left is the burning of Moscow during Napoleon's ill-fated Russian campaign, and on the right is Napoleon's grave on St Helena. Hidden amongst the leaves on the tree are portraits of Napoleon and three of his most important generals, Ney, Murat and Soult.
For other Napoleonic prints with hidden portraits see refs. 33192, 35100 etc.
