View of the Prospect Plantation on the Caribbean island of Saint Vincent. The estate was situated in the parish of Saint George, in the southernmost portion of the island. It was owned by Sir William Struth (1763-1850), who had been mayor of Bristol in 1815 and also owned land in Trinidad. Struth was acting governor of Saint Vincent in 1829-31. A unique drawing made for Struth as a gift by an anonymous friend, in the style and presentation format of a line engraving.
