[11 Topographical drawings and watercolours of North America, China and England]
11 drawings and watercolours, dimensions of each between 130 x 180mm (5 x 7") and 170 x 285mm (6¾ x 11¼"). Mostly glued to album sheets; some staining, wrinkling etc.
Interesting collection of late 19th century topographical and martime subjects including the Great Falls of the Passaic River (Paterson, New Jersey), a view of the Hudson river from Newburgh, the South Battery on Governor's Island in New York, Turnabout Island (Kiushan Tao) east of China, gold digging near Yantai in China, and Torre Abbey Sands near Torquay in England, along with ships including one sailing from New York to England. Signatures on some of the works suggest they may all have been by members of the Walter family.
