Portrait of Marie de Médicis, Queen and Regent of France (1573-1642) holding flower, in decorative frame. She was the wife of King Henry IV of France, of the Bourbon branch of the kings of France. Later she was the regent for her son King Louis XIII of France. Engraving after Anthony van Dyck from the large volume 'Theatrum Pontificum, Imperatorum, Regum, Ducum, Principum, etc'. The volume contained portraits of sinigificant people from many countries, most of them, like this, engraved by its publisher Pieter de Jode II.
