J: Sanders. No.6 Great Ormond St. London.Remov'd to No. 66, Great Queen Street, Lincolns Inn Fields.
Aquatint with etching. Sheet size: 100 x 85mm (4 x 3¾"). Trimmed inside platemark.
A tradecard for John Sanders (1750 - 1825), portraitist and general painter, who also produced aquatints. Sanders entered the Royal Academy Schools in 1769, and exhibited there between 1771 and 1788, although there is some confusion as to what belongs to Sanders or his father. He was awarded the silver medal at the RA Schools for a 'Full academy figure' in 1770.
