A portrait of Jan Pieter van Suchtelen, Count of Liikkala, (1751 - 1836) directed to and facing the left, in military attire with numerous medals attached to his coat. Suchtelen was a general in the Russian army during the Russo-Swedish War (1808–1809). He negotiated and signed the Treaty of Orebro on behalf of Emperor Alexander 1st, which brought to an end the Anglo-Russian War (1807–1812).
