Young girl holding a crook under her arm, a lamb beside her. Originally issued as a pair with another plate, 'Pride', in which a girl with a peacock's feather in her hair is shown besides a peacock. After a 'fancy picture' by Philip Mercier (1691-1760), Berlin-born painter and etcher who worked in London, York and Portugal.
