A scene on the Isle of Skye, with five figures standing on a pier, waving at boats, facing a stretch of water crowded with dolphins. There are figures in three rowing boats and an empty sailing boat at left, with logs and barrels in the foreground to the right. Rocky mountains are seen in the background. From William Daniell's 'A Voyage Round Great Britain', a series of 308 aquatints published in eight volumes between 1814-1825, described by R.V. Tooley as 'the most important colour plate book on British Topography'.
