A view depicting figures working in a quarry in the foreground to the left, with a man standing on a slab, giving instructions with his left arm raised. A pulley system with a trolley for carrying rocks is at the centre, with a vertical wall of rocks to the right. From William Daniell's 'A Voyage Round Great Britain', a series of 308 aquatints published in eight volumes between 1814-1825, described by R.V. Tooley as 'the most important colour plate book on British Topography'.
