A view of Dunvegan Castle on a hill-top overlooking an estuary, seen from the hills behind. Figures are on the path in the foreground, wirth women laying washing to dry on the grass beyond a bank of trees, and a large house on a spit of low ground to the left. From William Daniell's 'A Voyage Round Great Britain', a series of 308 aquatints published in eight volumes between 1814-1825, described by R.V. Tooley as 'the most important colour plate book on British Topography'.
