The fall of Antwerp in July 1794 during the Flanders Campaign of 1793-5 in the early years of the French Revolutionary War. The campaign was a resounding success for the French, but disastrous for the First Coalition of Britain, the Dutch Republic and various other states. Part of a set of battle scenes published by the popular printmakers Laurie & Whittle soon after the actions had taken place.
