A set of skillfully engraved views in Frankfurt, Germany, at the time the seat of the Holy Roman Emperors and the Empire's administrative centre. They seem to be a special commission for the chief architect of the city. Includes 1 large plate of the Cathedral of St. Bartholomew (numbered '3') 'Ecclesia Metropolitana Sancti Bartholomaei et turris eius Francofurti ad Moenum'. After the Holy Roman Emperors ceased to be crowned by the popes, their coronation ceremonies took place here (1562–1792). Each plate has title and description in both German and Latin.
