An analysis of Hindi classical music melodic mode 'raga' by Tagore (or Saurindramohana Thakura], which are traditionally associated with different times of the day or seasons. Here each raga is illustrated with a scene, lyrics in Hindi and English, a page of music and a description. The frontispiece depicts the goddess Sarasvati seated on a whote lotus, playing a veena.
