A reconstruction of the classical Temple of Fortuna Primigenia at Palestrina near Rome, now under the modern town. The dedication is to Maffeo Barberini (1631-85), great-nephew of Pope Urban VII. The plan was published in Blaeu's 'Theatrum Civitatum et admirandorum Italiae', townbooks of Italy that were a great success and reissued several times until 1726.
