Portrait of two early Britons, a male a female who are heavily tatooed and hold weapons. The Britons inhabited Britain during the Iron Age, Roman Era and Post Roman Era and were the dominant people until the arrival of the Anglo-Saxons from the 5th Century onwards. Sailing ships can be seen in the background, these could be perhaps the vessels of Greeks who visited the island or Romans who inhabited it.
