Storrs Hall, on the banks of Lake Windermere in the Lake District, Cumbria. Built by Sir John Legard in the 1790s, he sold the property to John Bolton, the dedicatee of this print. Bolton was a Liverpool slave trader who purchased the hall with his profits and held regattas on Lake Windermere which were attended by Wordsworth and Sir Walter Scott, among others. The property is now a hotel.
