Mary Scott-Waring, née Hughes (d.1812), Irish actress and second wife of Major John Scott-Waring (1747-1819, political agent of Warren Hastings from 1781 and MP for West Looe (1784-90) and Stockbridge from 1790), with whom she had the son and daughter shown here. According to Whitman, she gave a masked ball at Peterborough House in honour of the Prince Regent in 1812, after which she was found at the bottom of a staircase with her neck broken.
