François-Régis de La Bourdonnaye, Comte de La Bretèche (1767-1839), politician. Bourdonnaye was elected deputy of Maine-et-Loire in 1815 and took an extreme right position in the royalist party. In his political career, which lasted until 1830, he favoured harsh punishments for those who had occupied prominent positions during the Hundred Days under Napoleon in 1815, further reducing the number of citizens entitled to vote, and fought against laws on personal freedoms and the press.
