Soft-ground etching printed in red, platemark 380 x 270mm (15 x 10½"). Small margins; tears inside platemark; some conservation work. Messy.
St Cecilia, patron saint of music, sat at a keyboard reading a score held up by a cherub. Engraved from a drawing by Guercino now in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. The print was published in 'A Collection of Prints in Imitation of Drawings', which included prints of works mostly in the collection of the art collector Charles Rogers (1711-84).
