A scene depicting a ship approaching the entrance of the harbour at Maryport, Cumberland, with others seen inside. Two figures are sailing in a small boat in the foreground at the right with buildings on a plateau in the background at left. Plate 48 from Daniell's 'A Voyage Round Great Britain', 1814-1825. William Daniell's 'A Voyage Round Great Britain' was the most ambitious of the many topographical publications produced in England during the early nineteenth century and its plates are a highpoint in the history of aquatint engraving.
