The Pharos, the lighthouse of Alexandria, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, built between BC 280 and 247. Fischer von Erlach (1656-1723) was a successful Austrian architect: his baroque works include the Schönbrunn Palace, Karlskirche, and the Austrian National Library in Vienna.
