Four men gathered on a rocky bank at the edge of a lake to the right, with helmets and spears, one seated and wearing a plumed helmet, in a wild landscape with firs to right and overhanging cliffs and trees to left. A man can be seen emerging from behind branches in the left foreground and two figures, one mounted, passing over the rocks above. From a series of twenty plates engraved by Hamlet Winstanley (1698 - 1756) after old master paintings at Knowsley Hall, in the collection of the 19th Earl of Derby.
