Susanna spied upon by two lecherous elders while bathing, a subject popular from the Renaissance onwards which allowed artists to depict the female nude within a narrative religious context. By Thomas Worlidge (1700-66), the 'English Rembrandt', Worlidge was a pupil of Alessandro Maria Grimaldi, whose daughter Arabella he married.
