A sailor clutches bags of prize money, containing thousands of pounds. Much money was to be earned during the early years of the French Revolutionary Wars, when even ordinary seamen shared in the proceeds of the sale of enemy ships captured by the Royal Navy. Ships are visible through a window on left. This is believed to last of three states in which the print was published: the first in 1796, the second in 1800, and this final state with the publication line removed.
