Tyburn Pike, near present-day Marble Arch at the corner of Edgware Road and Bayswater Road in London. Many executions took place here as the site of Tyburn Gallows, which were last used in 1783. From Pickett's 1812 book of 'Ninety-Six Speciments of Cottages-Bridges-Castles-Churches [...] Intended to facilitate the Improvement of the Student, and to aid the Practitioner, in Landscape Composition'. Aside from its function as an educational volume, the scenes in the book also provide many unusual views of London in the early 19th century.
